Outdoor activities (pseudo-sports),
like KickBall;

there is a small group of cartoonists in the area who like to pretend like we're athletic. Above is a poised-for-action Ken Dahl running to kick an Alec Longstreth action-figure that was pitched at him a split second before the picture was taken.

Cat Garza stands on one leg as the Alec doll, wearing a soccerball hat, is flung at him.

Here, overwhelmed by Summer and it's sweet sunny skies, I do a little dance.
Four Square,

Four-square is probably my favorite outdoor activity. It's a lot of fun and allows for a lot of goofy creativity, and it lets a lot of people play while keeping it from being too competitive or one-sided.

BUT, one problem with playing a child's game in a public park is that sometimes children will want to play. Which is fine. Until they pick apart our rules and make fun of our styles and bring back those feelings of being the patronized scrawny kid back in elementary school.
But at least there's
Ice Cream,

Here's Alec snacking on a cone at a local ice cream stand. For updates and progress on Alec's beard (and the new issue of his comic) visit his blog and flickr.
There are a couple of very nice ice-cream stands in the area that make for great cool-down spots after our hours of pseudo-sports.

Some dog eats some kind of frozen treat.
and relaxing,

My wife and my pup.

Here's Becca playing a sweet new game on the Nintendo DS with its brand-new DS Pug-Terrier Attachment. It plugs right into the back of the game system and provides hours of sleeping and growling at the neighbors cars!

Check out Denis St. John's brand new issue of his series Monsters and Girls. Apparently his main character's eye was modeled after my own eyes. Kidding. I don't tweeze that much.

And finally here's a picture of our new(ish) friend Gus Hindle, the first-born of our friends James and Emily.
